My Praxis story
I took the Praxis 5195 for the first time NOT expecting to pass.
I sat for it as a diagnostic β to see where I stood before serious prep.
Attempt 1: 159. Colorado's cut score: 163. I missed by 4 points.
That score encouraged me. Being 4 points from passing on a minimally-prepped attempt told me two things:
βΈ Your Spanish doesn't have to be native-like to pass this test.
βΈ This test is passable with strategy, not fluency.
10 weeks of focused prep later, I retook it. Scored 174 β passed by 11.
Cultural Knowledge went from 5/12 to 12/12. Reading from 13/25 to 21/25.
Both jumps came from strategy. Not more Spanish.
